A recent meeting was called by the Archbishop and the Office of Proclaim, to inform parishes about the project, Take The Way of the Gospel. This project will see the 209 parishes in Melbourne move into Mission configurations, where a Parish Priest will oversee each of the 60+ Missions. Cathy O’Brien from St Thomas’ Parish, Sr Margaret Sapsford, Pastoral Associate of Sacred Heart and myself from St Mary’s attended as lay leaders. The Priests of the Archdiocese, including Frs Steven, Dixon and Tao attended an earlier meeting. On behalf of Sr Margaret and myself, Cathy O’Brien spoke about this project at the end of the (recorded) Mass on the weekend of 5/6 June. You can find Cathy's report here.
The Archbishop’s Pentecost Pastoral Letter Take The Way of the Gospel was available in the Gathering Space on Pentecost weekend. Many people would not have seen this letter, as we are so focussed on arriving and checking in. You can find the Pastoral letter here and further information on the Archdiocese website here.
