St Mary's Sporting Clubs

Basketball Club
The St Mary's Basketball Club was established in 1981 and currently has over 40 teams registered each season in the DVBA. We have teams for both boys and girls ranging from Under 8 to Under 20. We are a family oriented basketball club that encourages participation at all skill levels and we rely completely on volunteers to function. The club has an active and welcoming committee that is always looking for new members. We always encourage new ideas and feedback to help us grow and support our children in the best way possible. We meet eight times a year on the third Thursday of the month to discuss our teams, club wide opportunities, association correspondence and financials.

Boys games are all played on Saturday while girls play predominantly during the week, with some younger age groups now playing on Saturday. There are two seasons per year, Autumn and Spring, coinciding with school semesters. To help our teams compete, we are always on the lookout for new coaches. Coaches are well supported by our highly experienced and credentialed Coaching Development Coordinator and are offered coaching certification opportunities. Training sessions for our teams occur on week nights at a couple of local school venues, including St Mary’s.

St Mary’s Tennis Club
Our club is a vibrant, active club with seven courts – three synthetic courts on school/parish grounds and four en-tout-cas courts (under lights) at its main venue, Kalparrin Gardens in Yando Street. The club provides various forms of social and competitive tennis, as well as coaching, for all ages and standards.
