Becoming a part of the Youth Group was something I had wanted to do from the time it was introduced at St James the Apostle Parish, Hoppers Crossing North.

2 February saw the next crop of up and coming youth leaders come together for
the Archdiocesan Office for Youth’s (AOY), Called and Sent: New Horizons camp
in Safety Beach. The three-day camp is designed to equip new youth leaders with
the tools they need to plan and build their youth ministry.

An awe-inspiring three days of joy and celebration of the young Catholic church of Australia has come to a glorious end.. and for many young people perhaps a new beginning.

The atmosphere of day 2 of the Australian Catholic Youth Festival captured a sense of enthusiasm and joy.

On Thursday 7 December, thousands of pilgrims traveled from across Australia to Sydney's Olympic Park to begin the long-anticipated Australian Catholic Youth Festival for 2017.

On Saturday 21 October, an enthused crowd met at Melbourne’s Catholic Leadership Centre to look ahead for the liturgical year of 2018, the ‘Year of Youth’, beginning 3 December 2017, the first Sunday of Advent. Hosted by the Archdiocesan Office for Youth, the event was titled ‘The Year of Youth: in your parish’ and consisted of a series of workshops and keynote addresses from Bishop Mark Edwards and Dr Philip Hughes.

Fr Zaher is Refugee Priest from Syria, who shared his first-hand experience of being a Christian in the Middle East and the oppression that he and other Christians faced.
