Blueprint 2014
On the 30th of August the Melbourne Archdiocesan Office for Youth (AOY) held ‘Blueprint’, a workshop day for people involved in youth ministry in our Archdiocese. The day covered various aspects of ministry, including how to engage young people, how to pray with young people, tips for recruiting and retaining leaders, and practicalities around providing a safe environment for young people.
Dr Aoife McGrath presented a keynote on the importance of accompaniment in leading young people closer to God. A range of workshops were offered across three blocks and participants gathered together as a whole group for Mass and a youth ministry panel which provided an opportunity to hear from those with many years’ experience in youth ministry.
Overall ‘Blueprint’ had a great turn out with over 100 people participating in the day. Attendees were enthusiastic to network with other leaders and to catch up with friends. Everyone seemed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, inspired and keen to take what they had learned back to their youth ministries. The AOY was particularly grateful for the many people involved in making the day a success including our workshop presenters and the Melbourne National Evangelisation Team.
