St Luke's YG at the State Youth Games

State Youth Games (SYG) is a place where over 3000 youth gather to camp out, play sports and celebrate. When I think of SYG there are three things that come to my head first so I'm going to share those with you all. First, the Praise & Worship - This is one of my absolute favourite things about SYG. They get amazing Christian speakers in, that share with us their wisdom, knowledge and perspective. I love being challenged to think about my faith in a new light. Then comes the Youth Vision band. With them we are given the opportunity to sing about our love of Jesus, God and our overall faith.
Next, the Campfire - This is a vital part of State Youth Games. Firstly because it is literally your main source of Heat in the Cold Warrigul Weather. Secondly because it is a point of youth group bonding. Singing songs , roasting marshmallows, dnms and loads of laughter. It's a point of each night where you get to know everyone in your own YG more however also serves as a gathering place for interacting with our Youth Groups!.
And last, the sport - State Youth Games is all about the sport. A weekend away playing everything from Uno to Ultimate Frisbee and everything in between. Along the way you won't be able to avoid the mud, the laughs or the new friends.
