St Christopher's Parish

Ministry to the Sick

Anointing Masses are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. When available, the Grades 5 & 6 children from the parish school join us for Mass. A team of 8 ladies generously provide sandwiches and cakes for our luncheon. We celebrate birthdays and special occasions. Once a year, we enjoy a dine-out at the RSL Club Glen Waverley, attended by approximately 35 parishioners.

Ministers of the Sick visit parishioners in their homes and at Waverley Valley Aged Care to bring the Compassion of Christ through the Eucharist to those unable to attend church. In doing so, the sick are united in the Body of Christ who is present in our parish community and the whole Church. Ministers of the Sick share in the healing and compassionate ministry of Jesus as members of His Body.
Visits are made on Sundays and Wednesday mornings. Anyone interested in becoming a Minister of the Sick will receive training and mentoring.
